The Best Way To Clean a Mug

Mugs will get stains, weather its a premium promotional mug from our range or a budget branded mug or one of our funky cool mock takeaway coffee cerramic mugs.

Stains occur quite easily especially with tea as their is a compound within the tea leaves which react to unfiltered tap water which causes and creates a brown glunk on the surface of your mug. In fact from experience the staining can even occur on glasses too. So how to remove them? Well here are 2 great ideas. I have tried them myself personally and yes they really do work!

1) Coca Cola! Other than being my beverage of choice at lunch it also makes for a great unstainer. Simply pour Coke and let sit for 1 day. Follow this up by then lightly rubbing the dirty surface after you poured it out and presto your cup will be squeeky clean. If not then a slightly more drastic action needs to be taken in step 2!

2) Bi Carbonate Soda! We eat this stuff? Its in bread. But as a cleaner I have not found anything better. Simply mix 50% Bi Carb Soda (available in supermarkets + 50% water. Mix. Then using a cloth dab this compound onto your mug generously and rub. It is amazingly effective and will remove literally all stains!

These 2 methods work incredibly. If they dont work on your mug then its probably time for you to get a new one!

The Trade Off between Branding Area and Size of Products

Promotional items come in all shapes and sizes. However like many things the smaller the promotional item is there is generally a premium on the price. Things such as promotional flashdrives and other items generally get more pricier with a smaller size because of the complexity involved in designing and creating the product. Unfortunately with smaller promotional items the branding area space becomes smaller. From experience many people prefer to have their logo branded in an absolutely huge size. We normally recomend against this as subtle branding makes for more effective and memorable brands. However this becomes even harder with smaller sized promotional items. Therefore when selecting a product for your company or event we do recomend to consider the complexity of your logoas well as the size you wish to brand before selecting the product so that you can have a good balance between an aesthetically attractive product at a resonable size yet still have a decent branding area size for you to show off your logo or your event!

3 Tiers or Promotional Items

hints and tips

Promotional items comes in all shapes and sizes. They also come available at all different price points too. We have in our range budget promotional items which are functional but are bare basic quality wise as well as mid range promotional items that are a good balance between price and quality as well as premium items which are extremely well made and are intended to last a very very long time.

If you are looking to use promotional items in your next event or planning to stock up products for new or existing customers that you service it may be a good idea to purchase products which target 3 different tiers of users and clients. The 3 tiers are:

The Mass Hand Out Item -
By this I dont mean to hand out a product randomly to every single person. (Unless your product or service is a universal item which can and be consumed by everyone young or old regardless of occupation) The Mass hand Out Item would be a product which is relatively lower in cost and will also allow you to purchase a larger quantity to distribute to more people. By doing this you will be able to reach more people without breaking the budget yet still potentially reaching that person that may actually turn into an actual cstomer.

The Targeted Hand Out Item -
It would be a great idea to stock up on a 2nd type of promotional item which is higher in quality and price than the “Mass Hand Out Item,” These will be products that are not distributed freely and only handed out to customers which have a higher likelihood at purchasing your product. So for example in a tradeshow it may be handy to have these in a draw where they are only distributed to clients who engage actively with you. These products need not be expensive.

The Corporate Gifting Item -
For those new clients who have just signed up or have purchased your product or service. In fact even for team members having a product on hand which is of higher value may be a good idea to really say “thank you,” to those valuable clients and team members

Having 3 different types of promotional items handy is a good idea so that you can adapt your marketing needs to any situation that may arise from a tradeshow event to a corporate function and allows you flexibility to always be on top and always have something appropriate.

Branding Promotional items in Contrasting Colours

bowls
Its best to brand using contrasting colours. Unless you really know your colours and you really know your intended result it is best to stick to contrasting colours when branding. We have had a few customers lately specifically instructing us to brand colours onto backgrounds which lack contrast resulting in logos which are obscure and ultimately an unhappy customer. So what do I really mean when I say contrasting colour? simple examples include black text on a white background much like this blog. Easy right? Well not quite when we start looking different products for different colours. Here are some suggestions I have for colours based on some of our most popular best selling colours:

Blue promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour white
Red promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour yellow or white or blue
Yellow promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour black or blue
Green promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour white
Lime Green promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour black
Black promotional Items - > Recomendended brand colour white or silver
Orange promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour Black or blue
Pink promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour black or blue
Purple promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour white or yellow
White promotional Items - > Recomended brand colour black purple blue green or red

when in doubt we will always recomend direct contrast colours for branding. Its best to be absolutely sure that your logo will stand out on any promotional item rather than leave things to chance where subtlety can sometimes mean invisible!

Yellow Promotional Items

Today is Daffodil Day! Daffodil day is to raise awareness and money towards Cancer research. What a huge charity event from the moment I boarded a train to work to working to the office I was approached 4 times to buy a promotional pen or a promotional mini footy ball or a lapel pin. Yellow and blue was the main themed colour for all the products and all the merchandise tents. Attention grabbing and very appealing. The colour yellow is definitely a great colour to base an event around. But what does it mean and why do yellow promotional items appeal so much?

Well yellow is of course the brightest of all the colours even compared to white. It is a fun sunny colour and you may not know but it is a colour that can be seen by even colour blind people. Yellow is used as a symbol for creativity (hence may be why it is a good colour for cancer research to create a cure!) Other symbolic meanings of yellow include: Happiness and glee as well as clarity and awareness. As a corporate colour for a logo or to represent an event these are definitely positive traits to convey.

There’s More Than One Place To Embroider on a Polo Shirt

threads

There is more than one place to decorate when it comes to embroidery on Polo Shirts.

The left hand side on the chest area is the most common request for our branded jobs but there are also other areas which can be embroidered as well. The collar is actually a good location to embroid a business logo and can often look very sleek. It is also good location to brand to avoid the awkward looks one may get when trying to check out a business’s branding (which is on a ladies chest!). Another place to decorate polo tshirts are the sleeves, especially for co-branding. Remember MasterChef? Well it was obvious that Qantas had sponsored MasterChef, their Qantas sysmbol was on the sleeves of the contestants branded shirts.

Back of the Promotional Polos you may ask? Screen printing Yes, but not for embrodiery. Embroidery on such a large space won’t look good we always recommend screenprinting instead.

What other promotional products would be suitable for embroidery? Promotional Caps, Branded Scarves, Beanies, custom towels and promotional bags. All fabric products would be suitable. Don’t forget, with embroidery you can have full colour logos. Pricing of embroidery will be based on the stitches required and not based on the number of colours. This could be more cost effective than to chose printing. Contact us if you would like to discuss your decoration options when you need promotional products next time.

Promotional Plush Toys Custom Made for You!

We all know Daffodil Bear and how cute he is, last year his name was Dougal. The Cancer Council promotional bears must be one of the most popular fundraising merchandise and I for one have bought quite a few over the past years. Call Us – that would be the simplest step! 02 9232 2163 or email us This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Firstly to order customised promotional soft toys:
Gather your Ideas:
Write it down, draw them, sketch them, or look for figurines. The more information you can provide us to use the better. Also take into consideration the
- Size of the promotional toy in cm’s and bulk (ie round, skinny)
- Approx order quantity – the starting minimum for custom made plush toy is 1000 units (large), for smaller promotional plush toy it is 2000 units.
- Decoration – Add a Tshirt, jacket, cap, add badges, branding those paws. Let us know!

Once you send use the information, we can then discuss what materials & colours are available and we will then supply you with a quotation. Once you’ve decided you’d like to proceed, we would create a prototype of your customised promotional plush toy for your approval. A deposit will be required at this point. If the prototype of the promotional toy is approved, we then take it into production. Expect to see your finished promotional merchandise, unique to your business available in 12 -16weeks time!

Embroidered Uniforms Gone Wrong!

The Australian Defence form. The navy in particular has unfortunately gone through a rather embarrassing episode in the news today. The embroidery patch work on their uniforms of some of the troops serving in the Middle East have unbelievably spelt the word Australia with 2 l’s. ie. Australlia. This has caused huge grief especially amongst ex servicemen and RSL clubs around Australia. It is quite embarrasing. I checked out the embroidery job and yep its quite wrong.

With custom branded merchandise these things can occasionally happen. Any merchandise purchsed through Cubic Promote will have a artwork mock up prior to production to avoid precisely these embarrassing errors. Check out our range today. We have everything from embroidered shirts to embroidered bags and more!

Promotional Hoodies & Winter

blue hoodiespink hoodies
Hoodies! When we first started 6 years ago only Emo’s, sk8ter boi’s, B-boys and fly girls wore them. In other words kids and teenagers. What has happened since is that today whilst shopping I noticed it is now a staple garment by middle aged men and women! Surprised? Yes i am absolutely surprised. I’m guessing it was that Bond’s big add campaign on hoodies that have made it such a mainstream garment. In the past year without realising we have taken more and more stock of promotional hoodies. That is hoodies that can be branded with our logo. Or hoodies are typically ordered by universities as well as clubs and organisations. However with the popularity of branded hoodies they are now typically also used in tradeshows and conferences. Check out our great range of promotional hoodies this winter today, we now have basic budget custom hoodies as well as premium hoodies!
