More thoughts on Subtlety in Branding Promo Items
I’ve been paying especially close attention lately to advertising mediums. Especially print and tv advertisments. Much like promotional products used to create brand awareness print and TV ads attract much of their attention visually to engage and attract potential customers to their products. After a while though I have noticed how sub consiously I began to switch away and disengage mentally from low budget adverts with bright colours and in the case of TV ads constant relentless yelling of the words sale sale sale. Whilst on the other hand beautifully crafted intelligent ads tended to capture and engage my attention. For example the Woolworth ads with their subtle colours and tones I found were terrific. The way advertisments work with tv and print is very very similar to promotional products conceptually. In choosing branding it is always tempting to go as large as possible. However much like advertising if you choose for a high perceived quality product (key word being perceived as opposed to cheap) with a tasteful even subtle branding it can go a long long way to attracting attention.
