Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg received an extra special surprise from Sony for his 26th birthday recently in the form of a birthday cake with a difference.

Turning 26 on October 24, Sony marked the occasion by sending Kjellberg (possibly YouTube's hottest star right now) a round double-layer cake covered in white frosting, featuring designs for the familiar DualShock buttons and topped with the phrase "Greatness awaits inside" — a play on Sony's marketing tagline for the PS4, "greatness awaits". Etched in icing on the side of the cake was "Happy birthday PewDiePie."

On cutting into the birthday cake, Kjellberg discovered a custom white DualShock 4 inside, the touchpad bearing his age, 26, and his nickname, PewDiePie.

Tweeting some photos of the cake and controller, PewDiePie wrote "I went for a late snack, but found a treasure! Thanks for this brilliant gift @PlayStation."

With Kjellberg recently topping Forbes’ list of the highest-paid YouTube superstars, bringing in an estimated $12 million over the past year, and having the most You Tube subscribers in history (40 million), PewDiePie’s star is on the up and up. In September, Kjellberg’s You Tube channel set a new record for the highest amount of views across an entire channel with 10 billion views, and Kjellberg recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about making video game-related videos for a living.

One of Kjellberg's next projects is Scare PewDiePie, a reality-adventure series featuring PewDiePie encountering “terrifying situations inspired by his favourite video games.” Skybound Entertainment, the creator and executive producers behind The Walking Dead, are set to produce the series in conjunction with Maker Studios. Scare PewDiePie will premiere in early 2016 exclusively on YouTube Red, Google's new $9.99-a-month subscription service.

Kjellberg is also currently creating a comedy self-help book entitled This Book Loves You.
