The Cubic Promote team is back at work this week, but as Aussies, we are also keenly aware of the bushfires raging across the country. These unprecedented fires have taken the lives of fellow Australians, destroyed whole communities, burnt down natural bushland, and killed countless animals.

What Causes Bushfires?

Bushfires are one of the most common and potentially damaging natural disasters in Australia due to their destructive potential. The primary cause of bushfires each year is often dry conditions caused by hot, dry winds that make the landscape highly combustible. A prolonged period without rainfall can create a tinderbox effect as vegetation dries under direct sun and becomes more easily ignited by lightning strikes or intentional burning for land management purposes.

These factors combine to make a fire become increasingly difficult to contain once it has begun. Other causes include online activities such as cigarette disposal, camp fires not properly extinguished or property developers failing to adhere to local legal requirements when clearing vegetation during construction activity – all of which increase the risk level if they remain unchecked or go unnoticed.

Like so many others we have been devastated watching these events unfold, which is why we've donated directly to WIRES (to assist with the care of native wildlife impacted by the fires) and participated in the CUB's Regional Fire Affected Business Fundraiser (to deliver money directly to small business owners in regional NSW/VIC to help them get back on their feet). We will also provide further charitable contributions to other fire-fighting and community organisations in the weeks and months ahead.

During difficult times like this, it can feel overwhelming to look at the magnitude of destruction we're facing. However, the Australian community has rallied together to support and protect one another, which is incredibly heartening.
