Designers tend to have good intentions when it comes to their work, but sometimes all the good intentions in the world can't fix a bung design. These funny designer mishaps are from all sorts of situations but serve to remind us all of one important thing; always double check your work before proceeding to production!
Promotional Design Errors to Avoid
Whether you're ordering custom promotional products or simply designing the packaging to go with them, it's important to keep in mind the following;
- Who will be using the product?
- Why will they be using it?
- How does my design allow for both of the above?
The following items don't really adhere to these design staples and as a result, are hilariously off-the-mark. Check them out and have a good chuckle.
Eco-Friendly Magazine in Plastic Packaging
National Geographic magazine recently released a powerful issue tackling the problem of plastic in the natural world. However, subscribers were horrified when they saw their copies arrive covered in not only plastic wrap but a loose plastic bag as well! This rather ironic situation is one of the reasons we offer the option of no plastic wrap on products such as custom reusable coffee cups (well, that and it's just plain better for the environment).
A Coffee Cup You Can't Hold
Speaking of coffee cups, spare a thought for whoever received the one above with their coffee in it. The tiny little handle can't actually fit fingers through it, meaning you have to grip rather oddly with your fingertips -- and it's not a tiny espresso cup either. Definitely makes you consider the practicality of nice-looking products, doesn't it?
A Coat Hanger That Won't Come Off Without All The Others!
It's tough to think of a more useless design for coat hangers in stores. If you're keen on buying a particular shirt style that's at the back of the rack, rather than being able to pull it to the side to remove it easily, thanks to this silly contraption you'll need to remove all the other shirts in front of it before being able to access the one you want! I can't imagine these were a hit upon release...
Do Not Place Solar Product in Sun
You think you're doing the smart thing by the environment when you invest in a solar-powered logo power bank, but what you're not likely expecting is the odd precaution in the booklet above! Thankfully the solar power banks we sell are designed to be exposed to sunlight, but we don't recommend putting them in a fire. The more you know!
The World's Most Useless Cup Holder
What sentence do you not want to read on your brand new cup holder? This one. That's right; this is a cup holder you can't put beverages in! If your cup holder isn't sturdy enough to hold beverages, it might be your product that's the problem -- not the beverages!
