At a conference, the satchel sets the tone. It is given out at registration before anyone has heard a word of the program, and it stays on a shoulder or under a chair for the rest of the day. ARO College wanted bags that looked considered and worked properly — room for a laptop, room for the paperwork, and the college name clearly on the front.

A satchel has a large flat front panel, which makes it one of the better branding surfaces in promotional merchandise — the logo reads clearly from across a room without being crowded. The bags were specified with a padded computer compartment so delegates could actually use them for the day rather than emptying them out, and the print was kept clean and legible against the bag fabric.
