I have come across a rather exciting day which is referred to as the National Walk to School Day. It seems like an official day that should work well in many schools in Australia.
What Happens on a National Walk Day?
The first Wednesday of every week in October is a day when exercise is encouraged. On the day, the daily commute by students to the school will switch from Transport to walking. This assumes that the distance is practical, of course. I cannot think of a better time of year than the beautiful springtime in Australia right now to go for a walk. Fresh air and exercise are great excuses to walk to school.
Walking is good for the heart, your general health, and even your mental health. Try to walk for at least 30 minutes each day.
Sharing on Social Media
Social media is used to recognise each person’s walk to school. You can post your kid’s or your walk to school with the hashtag #walktoschoolday. While social media sharing allows the locals to be part of the initiative, this is also a great idea for brands to get their name out there in an organic way. One way to do that is to set up stations or tables at the most crowded locations in the area and give out giveaways like:

What I’d Recommend to My Client
All these giveaways are great, but what I would recommend my client is to go for bottles and some hats. The hats are perfect since they’re wearable and have more chances of being posted on social media. Reflective bands are also great, but they specifically work best at night.
