Our Client: Mark Jay Photography

Mark Jay Photography is an Australian photography business that delivers final photo collections to clients after every shoot. Leanne Jezercic reached out to Cubic Promote looking for a branded USB drive that matched the studio’s warm, elegant aesthetic and could be handed to clients alongside their finished images.

Choosing the Right USB and Getting It Made

Leanne knew she wanted something that looked considered. From there, our account manager, Arianne, walked her through what we had available and what would work best for the brief.

For the product, we recommended the wooden USB in a light maple finish over a standard plastic drive because the natural grain suits a photography brand’s look far better. A free quote came back within the hour, and ordering in bulk brought the per-unit price down compared to smaller quantities. Our artwork team then set up the “mjp” monogram for laser engraving, which suits a wooden surface better than print since the logo is burned into the grain rather than applied on top.

Once Leanne approved the mock-up, the drives went into production, were quality-checked, and shipped from our Sydney warehouse. Each drive has a magnetic cap that slides off cleanly and holds firm when closed, with a Grade A Samsung chip inside for reliable storage across memory sizes from 1GB to 16GB.

Our Process & Leanne’s Final Product

After Ariane called to confirm the order had arrived, Leanne said:

“I thank you for the quick turnover.”

Ariane Milarpez is a Cubic Promote account manager who works with a wide range of clients across creative industries, community groups, and client-facing gifting. She enjoys working with clients who are open to product recommendations and trust her to find what fits their brand.

For this order, she pointed Leanne toward laser engraving on a light wood finish because she knew the result would sit well with a photography studio’s presentation style and give the logo a clean, lasting finish that print on a smooth plastic drive simply would not.

Why Wooden USB Drives Are a Strong Choice for Creative Businesses

Photographers put care into how they present their final work to clients, and the handover moment is part of that experience. A wooden drive with an engraved logo feels deliberate and personal, and clients tend to hold onto it long after the shoot is done.

The laser-engraved finish also ages well since there is no ink to crack or fade, and the magnetic cap keeps the connector protected when the drive is not in use. For creative businesses where presentation carries weight, a branded wooden USB is a practical and good-looking way to round off the client experience.
