About the Client
The University of Western Australia (UWA) is known for its strong academic programs, research, and lively campus atmosphere. With a large community of students, staff, and alumni, UWA often holds events, open days, and activities on campus throughout the year.
Project Brief
For a series of student events, UWA wanted a branded item that students could use in their daily lives. They focused on something practical that would be useful right away and keep the university visible on campus. The item also needed to appeal to current students, prospective students, and event visitors.
Merch They Selected
UWA selected 420 white power banks featuring clean, minimal branding. The design aligned with the university’s visual identity, keeping the product professional while still highly functional. The power banks were distributed during open days, student orientation programs, and key campus events.
Everyday Use on Campus
Students quickly started using the power banks in their daily routines:
- Charging devices between lectures and tutorials
- Supporting long study sessions in libraries and common areas
- Staying connected during campus events and activities
Since students use their devices all the time at university, the power banks were popular right away.
Results
Giving out the power banks helped increase both student engagement and the university’s visibility:
- 3% boost in visibility across the campus
- 100% smiles from the students and staff who received the power banks
The team was especially impressed by how high-quality the power banks looked. By choosing something that fit easily into student life, UWA made sure their brand stayed visible and gave students a useful item they would keep using after the events.
