Intensive Care Foundation

Key Points
- The Australian & New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation ordered branded notebooks, multi-ink pens, and heart-shaped stress balls in bulk for their upcoming StepUp4ICU Expo.
- A heart-shaped stress ball is a thoughtful choice for a healthcare foundation as the shape reinforces the campaign without extra messaging.
- Cathy said she couldn’t think of anything wrong with the products and that the team is really happy with them ahead of the Expo.

About the Intensive Care Foundation
The Australian & New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation runs the StepUp4ICU campaign, raising awareness and funds to support intensive care research and patient outcomes across Australia and New Zealand. Cathy Boyce from their team contacted Cubic Promote to pull together a branded merchandise pack for their upcoming Expo, covering three product types that would work together across the event.

What We Supplied for the Expo
The order included three products, each featuring the StepUp4ICU and Intensive Care Foundation logo in blue and teal on a white body.
- The heart-shaped stress balls are white with a smooth surface, the StepUp4ICU footprint icon and Intensive Care Foundation wordmark printed centrally across the front.
- The multi-ink pens are white with a dark grey grip section, printed with the same logo and foundation name running vertically along the barrel in blue and teal.
- The white hardcover notebooks carry the full StepUp4ICU icon and Intensive Care Foundation branding across the front cover, with an elastic closure and a clean, professional finish.
We sent a free quote across all three products together. Ordering in bulk kept the per-unit cost practical across the full expo run. Our team set up the artwork for each product separately, since logo placement and print methods differ across a curved stress ball surface, a pen barrel, and a flat notebook cover. Once Cathy approved all three mock-ups, everything went into production and shipped from our Sydney warehouse ahead of the Expo date.

What Cathy Said Before the Expo
Cathy confirmed the order had arrived and told our team:
“Yeah, no, they’re really good. I can’t think of anything bad about them. No, I think we’re really happy with them. So, the Expo is next week. So, thank you for all your hard work.”
Mary Haycell Aguirre, the account manager who handled this order, recommended keeping the colour palette consistent across every item, with all three products in white and the same logo treatment across each one.
Why Branded Merchandise Works at Healthcare Expos
A healthcare expo brings together clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals in one setting. Here is why:
- Heart-shaped stress balls are picked up immediately at a booth, are easy to squeeze during a long expo day, and the shape connects directly to a healthcare campaign without needing explanation.
- Multi-ink pens are genuinely useful at a conference or expo, where attendees take notes, collect contact details, and move between sessions. A pen that works well gets kept.
- Branded notebooks suit the more engaged attendees and speakers who want somewhere to write during sessions. A clean white notebook with a professional logo sits on a desk long after the expo is over.
When ordering this type of merchandise in bulk for a healthcare event, the practical advice is to keep the colour palette consistent across every product. A mixed colour approach across three items can look uncoordinated on a booth table. All white with the same logo treatment, as this order was set up, gives the display a clean, professional look that reflects well on the foundation and the campaign it is running.
