Our Work with Complex Co.

Complex Co. was getting ready for its family day and wanted branded merchandise that would appeal to people of different ages. Ebony Ison worked with our account manager, Mary Aguirre-Cruz, to put together a selection of practical giveaways and fun items for the occasion.

A family day isn’t quite like a regular corporate event. You’ve got adults catching up, kids looking for something to do and plenty of people who appreciate having something useful to take home. The merchandise needed to suit that mix.

Something for Everyone

Complex Co. chose four products featuring its geometric company logo. Each had its own colours and design, which made for quite a varied collection:

  • Tote bags: Dark charcoal bags with black handles and large geometric artwork in orange or golden yellow. The designs were bold and simple, with plenty of space around the company symbol.
  • Piggy banks: Translucent blue, pig-shaped money boxes with the company symbol printed on the sides. You could see through the coloured plastic, which gave them a playful look.
  • Fidget spinners: Bright red and orange three-pronged spinners with black bearings and small logos in the centre. Their compact design made them easy to carry around.
  • Yo-yos: Round black yo-yos featuring the company symbol in two colour variations, orange and gold.
The selection had a good mix of everyday products and things kids could play with. Parents could make use of the tote bags, and the smaller novelty items gave younger attendees a few different options.

Yo-Yos Over Others

Ebony confirmed that Complex Co. would still use the yo-yos alongside the other merchandise. They made sense for a family day because kids could try learning tricks, and even adults might remember playing with one when they were younger. There’s something nice about a toy that doesn’t need batteries, a screen or much explanation. Children can practise getting the yo-yo back up the string or challenge their mates to see who can keep it spinning the longest. The yo-yos were also small enough to hand out without much fuss. They added another activity to the merchandise selection, which was handy for an event catering to families with children of different ages.
