What is ColourFlex Transfer?
ColourFlex Transfer is a transfer/sticker that uses a CMYK+W (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and White) digital print process. This produces high-quality, full-colour designs on fabrics and garments.
Apparel suppliers like Cubic Promote, use this method, especially for custom t-shirts, sportswear, and promotional merchandise. It is also a popular option for businesses and individuals in the apparel industry to produce detailed and vibrant prints that are durable and visually appealing.
How ColourFlex Transfer Works
- Design Preparation: Create a digital design using complex details, gradients, and multiple colours. Experienced graphic designers usually use software like Adobe or Photoshop to ensure high-resolution design. You can always use free and easy tools like Canva to create your design for someone without design knowledge.
- Printing onto Transfer Material: Once the design is ready, the process will continue by printing onto a specialised transfer film using high-quality inks. The ColourFlex Transfer process provides excellent prints, ensuring vibrant and accurate colours.
- Application to Fabric: Then, the next step is to place the printed transfer on the fabric. Then it’s time to bond the print onto the fabric. This is done by using two types of heating methods which are the cool and hot peel. This process bonds the printed transfer material onto the fabric to ensure longevity and resistance to washing.
- Final Touches: After, the cooling process takes 10-60 seconds. Then, we will move and subject the transfer film to heat and pressure to leave a smooth, high-quality print on the apparel. Some finishing treatments may also be applied to enhance durability and texture.
Benefits of ColourFlex Transfer
- Full-Color Printing: ColourFlex transfer allows multi-colour designs, like gradients and complex designs. Normally, traditional screen printing would require separate screens for each colour, while ColourFlex transfer allows multi-colour designs, which makes it more cost-efficient.
- High Durability: The prints created with ColourFlex Transfer are long-lasting, resisting cracks, fading, and peeling even after multiple washes.
- Versatile Application: It works well on cotton, polyester, blends, and even performance fabrics.
- No Minimum Order Quantity: Since it does not require extra screen setup, it is cost-effective for production of any scale.
- Finishing: Unlike other transfer methods that create a stiff feel, ColourFlex Transfers offer a softer finish.
ColourFlex Printing vs Other Printing Methods
- Screen Printing is better suited for bulk orders with limited colours, while ColourFlex excels in multi-colour designs with low minimums.
- Direct-to-Film (DTF): While similar in application, ColourFlex often provides a smoother outcome.
- Sublimation: Other printing methods are limited to only one type of fabric—polyester fabrics—whereas ColourFlex can be applied to multiple fabric types.
Overall, ColourFlex Transfer is a versatile, high-quality, cost-effective printing method, making it a top choice for businesses and individuals seeking professional-grade apparel customisation.
