Behind the Scenes: How Transfer Printing Customises Our Golf Umbrellas

By 15 May 2025July 26th, 2025Outdoors & Leisure

Regarding promotional umbrellas, the branding process matters as much as the product itself. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes of our Sydney production space to show how we bring custom golf umbrellas to life—one transfer print at a time. From warehouse shelves to the final press, here’s how your brand makes it onto premium umbrellas that get seen everywhere.

From Warehouse to Branding: The Journey Starts Here

In an unmarked warehouse in Sydney, thousands of unbranded umbrellas are ready for customisation. As you can see in the image below, these items arrive in bulk—carefully boxed, stacked, and logged—so we can offer quick turnaround times on every order.

Umbrellas are among Australia’s most popular promotional items, thanks to their size, longevity, and visibility. But getting your logo on them isn’t just a matter of sticking on a label. That’s where transfer printing comes in.

Precision in Action: The Transfer Printing Process

Unlike screen printing or digital methods, transfer printing applies high heat and pressure to bind a pre-printed logo onto the umbrella fabric. This method is ideal for bold colours, gradients, or logos with fine details. It’s also particularly effective on nylon and polyester panels—precisely what you’ll find on our custom golf umbrellas.

Here’s a shot from our workshop: the umbrella canopy is aligned carefully under the transfer press, ensuring the logo is placed precisely.

Next, the heat press swings down. At a scorching 176°C, it bonds the Canon Business Services ANZ logo onto the umbrella panel. What’s happening here is invisible to the eye, but chemically, the ink layer is embedded into the fabric, creating a long-lasting, weather-resistant imprint.

Quality Control and Final Inspection

Once each umbrella is printed, it’s manually inspected. From registration to finish, every umbrella goes through hands-on checks. Here’s a completed unit with crisp, vibrant branding. (red really pops out on a black umbrella)

This Big umbrella featured bamboo handles, which beautifully match the look of the item.

Why Transfer Printing Works So Well?

Transfer printing allows us to reproduce multicoloured, high-fidelity logos even on dark or uneven surfaces. That makes it ideal for outdoor promotional gear like umbrellas, where clarity, durability, and waterproof branding are non-negotiable.

For clients like Canon and many others, the umbrellas reflect their corporate identity without compromise—they are sharp, visible, and built to last.
