Introduce Camberwell Scout Group

Camberwell Scout Group is part of Scouts Victoria, one of Australia’s largest youth organisations. Cameron Rennie contacted Cubic Promote to organise custom bucket hats for their cubs ahead of Cuboree 2026, a major event where cub units from across the region come together. For Unit 225, the hat needed to feel specific to their group, not just a generic event item.

From Brief to Finished Hat: How We Approach The Order

The design combined a capybara mascot in a scout scarf, fleur-de-lis symbols, a ribbon banner reading “Unit 225” and “2026,” and the Cuboree wordmark across the crown. Getting that many elements to sit cleanly on a curved surface took several rounds of adjustment, and we worked through each one without dropping the timeline.

  • First, we confirmed the yellow bucket hat and full-colour print to handle the artwork’s detail and colour range.
  • Second, we sent a free quote and built the design layout to fit the crown panel.
  • Third, we worked through multiple revisions with Cam, adjusting sizing and placement until everything read correctly.
  • Fourth, once Cam approved the final artwork, we pushed into production, quality-checked each hat, and shipped from our Sydney warehouse.

What Camberwell Scout Group Feels After Receiving the Products

Here’s what the client think about the product:

“The hats have arrived, and they look great. I really appreciate the work done on this given it was probably a fairly small project for you and had several changes. The kids are going to love them when they see them tonight.”

Our account manager who took care this order, Ariane Joy Milarpez, she recommended full-colour print instead of single-colour option because the artwork had too many elements, the capybara, the banners, the fleur-de-lis, to simplify without losing what made the design feel specific to Unit 225. Getting that right across multiple revisions was worth the extra rounds of sign-off.

Why Event-Specific Artwork Makes the Difference

A hat built around a specific group, with a mascot, a unit number, and a year, gives kids something to claim as their own. It tends to get worn again long after the event is over, which a plain hat rarely does. For scout groups ordering in bulk, the per-unit cost stays manageable and full-colour print on a bucket hat holds up well through outdoor use and regular washing.
