I once watched my brother eat a meal slathered in a chilli sauce so hot, he went red, started tearing up, and sweat streamed down his face. He looked like he needed an ambulance. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. So I can only imagine the sort of hilarious effect that the following corn chip will have on someone. Made by Paqui, a maker of corn tortilla chips, the Carolina Reaper Madness chip is made using the world record holder for the hottest chilli in the world, and the custom packaging illustrates that point perfectly.

Deadly Custom Packaging

The Carolina Reaper Chilli is currently the Guinness World Record Holder for world's hottest chilli. How hot is it? Well, using the Scoville Scale, a measurement of how spicy hot things are, your basic cayenne pepper measures 30-50 thousand units. The Carolina Reaper is over a million units. The one time hottest chilli, and now the fifth hottest chilli: the Ghost Pepper, has been weaponised by the Indian military as an anti riot and terrorist incapacitating pepper grenade. And the Reaper is even spicier. Basically, it's hot is what I'm saying.

So how better to show that than to make the most macabre chip packaging ever devised? With the Carolina Reaper name, and with how powerful a chilli it is, they've gone rather heavily on deadly motifs. The packaging itself is shaped like a coffin, the front of it is emblazoned with a grim reaper, the box is marked "deadly heat" spicy, the chip - and yes, this is so spicy they're selling it by itself - comes in a foil wrapper which says "Fear the Reaper" and the entire thing is a bright threatening red colour. It's a rather impressive and eye catching design and would certainly grab your attention. Particularly if you were brave or foolhardy enough to test yourself against it.
