Client Story: Penrith City Council
Last Updated: 25 March 2026
Campaign Goal
For a series of outdoor events, the council looked for a giveaway that families could use right away, rather than something they would throw away. They wanted something practical that worked well in parks and open spaces, and that would also keep the council’s presence visible during the event.
Selected Item
Penrith City Council picked 500 branded picnic mats and foldable rugs that were easy to carry and could be used again and again. Each one had the council logo on the flap, so it stayed visible even when packed up. The mats were handed out at major community events like weekend festivals and local gatherings.
How Residents Used Them
People started using the picnic mats right away throughout the event spaces:
- Seating for families during performances and activities
- Picnic setups across grass areas and parklands
- Reuse at future outings such as parks, beaches, and sports events.
Because the product suited the environment, it became part of the event experience rather than just a takeaway item.
Outcomes
The mats made the event more comfortable and enjoyable for everyone:
- Strong brand visibility across open spaces throughout the day
- 3% increase in awareness about Penrith City Council and what they do for the community
We also ensured all 500 picnic mats were delivered 2 days before their upcoming community event. By choosing a product that aligned with how attendees interacted with the space, Penrith City Council ensured its branding remained visible while adding genuine value to the community experience.
