The Seven Network Australia

About the Client: The Seven Network (also known as Channel Seven or simply "Seven") is one of Australia's most popular free-to-air television networks. The Seven Network is known for its extensive coverage of current events, sports, and original scripted drama series such as 'Home & Away'. Channel Seven also gives back to the community with a specific focus on funding for research into childhood illnesses via their not-for-profit organisation, The Channel 7 Children's Research Foundation.

Our Brief: The team at The Seven Network reached out to Cubic Promote for a custom-packaged order in time for Christmas 2021. The campaign's purpose was to give Christmas presents to young people in hospitals or care facilities over the holiday period. The main product was a full-colour jigsaw puzzle suitable for a primary/secondary school-aged children, which needed to be crafted and boxed locally for a fast turnaround time (to ensure delivery for Xmas). However, the jigsaw itself was only part of what the team at Seven needed to make the entire package look like a holiday dream.

In addition to the jigsaw, they needed a custom box, wrapping paper, and personalised Christmas message cards, all assembled and delivered to 8 locations across NSW, SA, and QLD. Although this looked like a sizable challenge in the weeks before Christmas, the Channel Seven and Cubic Promote teams were united by a desire to make this order happen so that some of the most vulnerable children in the Australian community had something special for Xmas 2021!

Our Solution: The Seven Network team provided fantastic graphics for use on the products that didn't need significant input from our design team, so Cubic Promote focused on the production and kitting side of things. While we sell boxed jigsaws regularly, the packaging for fast turnaround options doesn't come with a custom print, so we needed to free up our digital print specialists to help decorate and assemble boxes to fit the puzzles (in addition to printing the puzzles themselves). Meanwhile, our paper print team worked on creating the custom wrapping paper and cards, which is no small feat in the lead-up to Christmas!

Ultimately, with deft coordination from Cubic Promote and fantastic input from The Seven Network team, we were able to kit and despatch the puzzles, fully wrapped, with a seasonal card from the team at 7 News, to all the client's recipients. We received wonderful feedback from The Seven Network staff regarding the gifts and their packaging, which made this rush order into an incredible success.
