How to Be the Exhibitor Everyone Talks About After the Event

By Wendy Li 24 July 2026 | Marketing Tips

Have you ever wondered why some booths stay in people’s minds long after an event ends while others are quickly forgotten?

The answer often comes down to small details. Everyone enjoys receiving freebies, but the ones that truly stand out are the items people actually use and keep. Every time they reach for that product, they’re reminded of the brand behind it. That’s the kind of lasting impression every exhibitor should aim to create, not just to be noticed during the event, but to be remembered long after it’s over.

The right promotional giveaway isn’t about giving away most items; it’s about giving away the right one. A useful product, paired with meaningful conversations and genuine customer engagement, can leave a lasting impression that extends well beyond the event.

 Start With the Experience

A great giveaway may attract visitors, but it’s the experience that makes them remember your brand. Even the best promotional item can’t make up for a booth where people feel ignored or rushed. That’s why we always make sure our booth is staffed with friendly, approachable team members. At trade shows, we usually have Anil, Swami, Mark, and Katherine at the booth to welcome visitors, answer questions, and make every interaction a positive one.

Choose the Person Who Will Use It

A good event brief starts by thinking about the person who will get the item, not just flipping through a catalog. Before you look at colors or prices, think about what your audience will actually carry, wear, refill, or use again.

  • Office-based visitors may value notebooks, pens, tumblers, or charging products.
  • Outdoor and community audiences often respond well to drinkware, umbrellas, or practical bags.
  • Tech-focused guests may prefer power banks or compact accessories they can use immediately.

Our account manager, Ariane Milarpez, always asks about the type of event first before dropping in a few product recommendations. This way, we can gauge which items will work.

Give Your Supplier a Clear Brief

Production isn’t always the main cause of delays. More often, it’s an unclear brief. If the supplier doesn’t know who the item is for, how it will be used, or when it’s needed, they can only offer general suggestions. That’s why when we work with our clients, we ask these questions:

  • Expected audience and approximate foot traffic
  • VIP quantity versus general giveaway quantity
  • Budget range and preferred level of quality
  • Artwork approval date, event date, and delivery location
  • Any interstate freight, venue access, or bump-in requirements

After the artwork is approved and production starts, changing the product or the decoration method can delay the process. Giving a complete brief from the start helps avoid last-minute changes.

Products That Tend to Stay in Use

No category works for every audience, but several products perform well because their use is obvious.

Product Where it tends to end up
Drink bottles and tumblers Refilled at a desk, in the car, or at the gym
Quality notebooks and pens Carried into meetings and used for daily notes
Branded apparel Worn at work, while travelling, or at another event
Tote bags Reused for groceries, errands, and commuting
Umbrellas Kept nearby and used on the next wet morning
Powerbanks Used repeatedly until the battery reaches the end of its life

Choosing a familiar product doesn’t mean it’s boring. A good pen that gets used every day can give your brand more exposure than a fancy gadget that never leaves its box. In fact, they continue to be our best-sellers, having sold 103,358 units to 127 organisations from July 1st, 2025, to July 1st, 2026.

What to Finalise Before You Order

We know how crucial it is to get your merch and event displays on time. That’s why we suggest you finalise these aspects first before confirming an order:

  • Check who will get each item and how they’ll probably use it.
  • Match the product and decoration method to the audience and environment.
  • Allow time for artwork approval, production, freight, and event bump-in.
  • Separate VIP quantities from general stand traffic where appropriate.
  • Order amounts that match your expected foot traffic, with a reasonable buffer rather than a large surplus.

What People Remember After the Event

Our Account Manager, Charles Liu, believes that every giveaway should do more than carry a logo; it should create a lasting connection. Behind every promotional item is an opportunity to spark a conversation, build trust, and leave someone with a positive memory of your brand. The best giveaways don’t end their purpose when the event does. They become part of everyday moments, serving as a quiet reminder that the most successful brands aren’t just seen; they’re remembered.
