Most of us have enjoyed a slice of bread or two over the years - let's face it if you're a fan of sandwiches you've likely enjoyed more than a few slices over the years! But have you ever thought of bread as a work of art? There's one keen embroiderer out there customising bread with her unique use of the decorative sewing craft. Rather than use a piece of fabric or board as her canvas artist, Terezia Krnacova opted instead to utilise seven slices of bread to create a work of art that combines literal and creative foods. While most of us probably think of embroidery as a means to add logos to promotional polo shirts, in reality, it is quite a diverse sewing art that can be utilised for all manner of customisation projects. For Krnacova, embroidery is as important to her as the bread she eats - hence her commitment to this artistic project.

Six of the bread slices have been altered in some way using thread embroidery. The seventh slice of bread was deliberately left untouched to symbolise Sunday, the day of rest. Each of the stitched pieces of bread features a different embroidery technique, meaning the overall impact is eye-catching and unique. Some pieces of bread are entirely cut out and filled with embroidered patches, while others have had elements inserted and stitched back in.
