Glossary of Printing Terms

• Matt Laminate Card: has a thin coating on both sides which both protects the card from moisture as well as making the card more rigid. Visually the card will have an attractive mute colour where light is dispersed on the surface.
• Gloss Laminate: A card with this effect has a thin coating which has all the characteristics of Matt Laminate with the exception that the card is glossy. The card looks more stylish, and light tends to reflect off the card surface.
• GSM: Denotes the weight and thickness of paper
