While the 2016 US Presidential Election has come and gone, the eternal contest between Democrats and Republicans continues. Here are five amusing products for Democrats to show the flag, scorn their rivals, and support their politicians. All of which you'd be hard pressed to find an Australian equivalent, because for the most part we care very little about our politics, aside from a sense of vaguely amused contempt.

1) Thanks Obama Coffee Mug. You know every time I saw "Thanks Obama" online, it was usually a bitingly sarcastic punchline by one of his critics. He's done something I disagree with. Thanks Obama (sarcasm). This democrats mug however is entirely genuine.

2) The above is a free downloadable wallpaper of Barack Obama and Joe Biden from the Democrats store. I honestly can't look at this photo without thinking about those amusing memes that cropped up just after the election with Biden planning pranks while Obama tried to reign him in.

3) A series of badges supporting the party and opposing President Elect Trump. Because the election might be over, but clearly not for anyone wearing these badges.

4) A travel tumbler emblazoned with the words I Hate Tea (Parties). I've never been fond of them myself. Too fancy for my tastes and they don't serve nearly enough biscuits and cake ( I'm being disingenuous here, I know what the Tea Party is).

5) And in response to the most iconic cap of 2016, a hat that makes the opposing argument: America is Already Great. Suitably patriotic. I wonder why we didn't see a sea of these caps?

Of course, because we're equal opportunity when it comes to irreverence towards politics, stay tuned for tomorrow's blog which will have 5 Amusing Republican Products! Most of them being as Anti-Democrat as the above was Anti-Republican.
