We have this one particular product in our catalogue of frisbees. It is conveniently named "The Donut Frisbee," as you can already tell from the picture it resembles a gigantic donut.

This particular frisbee has been in stock with us for a touch over 2 years now and is still a hot selling product do primarily to the shape and also the fact that it is also really economical in price. However did you know that there is more about this frisbee than meets the eye?

You see the shape of it was inspired by the original and patented Aerobie. The Aerobie was the first original donut frisbee and it was designed not just merely to be a toy but to be the best frisbee ever made. Alan Adler invented the Aerobie and immediately there are two things unique about it:

1) It is made from silicone rubber which tapers in like a blade on the edges. It then features an innner plastic ring that stops the frisbee from being floppy.

2) It is in the shape of a donut

These factors make it literally slice through the air and being able to sail through astonishing distances. In fact Erin Hemmings set a record in 2003 as having thrown any object further than anyone else. An astonishing 0.4 kilometers. The disc was airborne for over 30 seconds!! The most amazing thing is that theoretically with an even larger disc and a stronger arm this record would be easily smashed if anyone had the inclination.

For now though our donut frisbee is a product that we carry that cannot emulate an original Aerobie in distance but it certainly one of our smoothest longest promotional frisbee that we carry.

Check out this video where this fellow in a pair of funny pants throws an an original donut Aerobie frisbee clear out of a football stadium. Video starts at 1.50 where the action starts.
