Would you have heard of Hello Kitty? She is a Japanese Anime character with the neutral expression that many kids around the world adore. Hello Kitty is a cat and basically has no facial expressions and has been around for seemingly decades now. She is unbeliveable appealing to children and has a range of merchandise from dolls to pencil cases and everything in between which have been a huge hit with children. In fact there are even exhibitions and museums devoted to her. It is with a great sigh that I have to report that Hello Kitty is now the new face for underage drinking.

  1. Avoid unsuitable drinks in promotions.
  2. Offer alcohol-free options with branding.
  3. Include custom-branded drinkware accessories.

Misuse of Anime Merchandising?

In Taiwan the Long Chuan Beer Company released a beer with a 2.5% alcohol content which is dressed up in a Hello Kitty can. How this beer company possible got the rights to the iconic Hello Kitty image and brand name is beyond me. I know the term "Kawaii," is big amongst adult women in Japan and Taiwan, but using cute as an excuse to market a product that will appeal to children is simply not responsible and not an appropriate drink to be used with our range of personalised beer glasses. The beer comes in 4 flavours including passion fruit, lemon, banana, and peach.

And speaking of weird branded beers, apparently Green Tea Powder beer is catching on big time in Japan and spreading oversees to places like America. I am sure Australia will be next. As weird as it sounds, Green tea may actually be a perfect complement. Green Tea powder is quite different to your normal loose leaf green tea. It has a slight bitter taste and amazing flavour. When you prepare it (well beaten) using a brush you get a lovely deep colour with a thick consistency and an amazing flavour. Combine it with a beer and believe it or not you have something similar to a Guiness. Now you can buy this beer pre-bottled or you can simply make it yourself. Visit your nearest tea shop and follow this recipe:

1) Green Tea Powder Half Teaspoon
2) 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling though... 80 degrees preferable)
3) Your favourite beer

Simply combine the Green Tea with the water and mix well. Just add beer and enjoy. It is surprisingly tasty! Use the beverage with one of our promotional beer glasses (Please forgive me as I could not resist the chance to plug one of our products :)). Enjoy!

Alcohol-Free Options

As many promotional events involve a diverse group of people, including non-drinkers and those under the legal drinking age, it is important to provide alcohol-free options that still showcase your brand. Here are some suggestions:

  • Sparkling flavoured water: Make a refreshing statement with your logo on a bottle of fruit-infused sparkling water.
  • Customisable soda cans: Offer a playful twist by personalising soda cans with your company's branding.
  • Cold brew coffee and iced tea: Tap into the beverage trend of artisanal cold brews and craft iced tea with your brand's packaging.
  • Branded energy drinks: Showcase your company's energy and drive by endorsing a custom-branded energy drink.

Drinkware Accessories

To further enhance your promotional products campaign, consider incorporating complementary drinkware accessories into your offerings. Here are some popular options:

  • Promotional coasters: Shareable and reusable, these can spread brand awareness beyond the event itself.
  • Bottle openers: Functional and portable, a branded bottle opener is an item your audience can use again and again.
  • Wine stoppers: For wine enthusiasts, offering a stylish branded wine stopper can add a touch of sophistication to your promotional campaign.
  • Custom stubby coolers: Keep drinks refreshingly cold with customisable can coolers that feature your logo prominently.

Takeaway

Selecting appropriate beverages and accessories to showcase your promotional glasses is essential for enhancing your brand's image and prioritising social responsibility. By avoiding unsuitable drinks like those with underage themes and offering alcohol-free options alongside branded drinkware accessories, you can ensure your promotional products campaign at Cubic Promote Australia makes the desired impact.
