If you live anywhere in metropolitan Australia you're likely to have seen many of your friends and neighbours wearing face masks in wake of the Novel coronavirus outbreak in China's Wuhan region. Masks are often helpful to stop your sneeze or cough travelling and hitting others if you are unwell, the best way to prevent transmission of this or any other similarly transmissible infection is through observing proper hygiene procedures.

Keeping Your Hands Clean is Important

We don't really think about what we do with our hands throughout the day, which means we often end up rubbing our eyes or touching our lips without realising we're transferring bacteria and other nasties from our fingertips to our more sensitive facial regions. This is of particular concern when it is flu season or during something like the recent coronavirus situation, as when we're on public transport or simply sharing implements/surfaces at home or work, we can end up getting all sorts of yucky germs in our system. So what can we do about it?

Practising Good Hygiene

  • Wash Your Hands With Soap and Water -- After you've been to the bathroom or touched a dirty surface, use warm water and your preferred custom soap to create a lather on your hands. Do this for a minimum of 20 seconds before thoroughly rinsing and repeat every time you visit the bathroom or come into contact with dirty surfaces.
  • Use an Alcohol-Based Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitiser -- Sometimes you can't get to a sink or you need to clean off your hands immediately, that's where promotional mini hand sanitisers come in handy. Carry them in your bag, keep them on your desk, just ensure they're handy for all those situations where you need to urgently get germs off your hands.
  • Cover Your Mouth and Nose When Sneezing or Coughing -- You might already be under the weather, but you definitely don't want your friends and loved ones feeling the same way. Ensure you keep some logo branded travel tissues handy in your pocket to catch any sneeze or cough, or failing that use a flexed elbow (sneeze/cough directly into it).

All of the above are noted by the NSW Government on their Novel coronavirus FAQ page as an effective means of minimising infection risk (we have interpreted them in our own phrasing with links to useful products we personally recommend from our range).

Where Do I Get Promotional Hand Sanitisers?

Unfortunately, a lot of local chemists and supermarkets are running low on stock of alcohol-based hand sanitisers as Aussies rush out to bolster their supplies. However, Cubic Promote has around 60,000 units currently stocked in Australia of 30ml and 60ml of promotional hand sanitisers which can be customised with your unique logo printing. If you're holding an event during February or simply want to help protect your staff or clients, why not invest in some quality hand cleaning gels with your logo or artistic design on them? These products are not just useful, but cost-effective as well, which means you're bound to have some very eager recipients when you distribute your bulk order among visitors/customers or staff.
