Here at Cubic Promote we are all about bringing the old school into the new. What better way to do this than through reliving the nostalgia of PC accessories of years past and looking at how to bring out personalized computer accessories of our own to match.

Retro PC Art

From lying in bed flicking between apps on an iPad to working on a mechanical keyboard attached to a flat screen monitor it’s easy to forget how the computers of yesteryears were cumbersome, room filling and noisy. Kimon Keramidas, director of the Digital Media Lab at Bard Graduate Center in New York, is revitalising our interest in the retro years of computing with an exhibit designed to bring out a refresher course on how we got to this new age of computing. The displays bring out the best aspects, or nostalgia for some, of room filling personal computers with mousepads and trackball mice to fit.

You could have your own personalized mousepads or headphones to bring back that retro feel to your company workspace.

Unique Branding Display

The display has its own online component for anyone to come and try, providing a fun way to get your own retro fix. The interactive web app is provided at the bottom. With the help of students from Bard and the expertise of computer programmer Jonathan Dahan, classic computers are springing to life to give an interactive experience of past processor speeds. So grab your pocket protectors and horn rimmed glasses because you can dive into a world of cables, clanking keys, whirring motors and see how blessed we live in the age of solid state drives.
