Why do we use bamboo? Well simply because we think it is the material of the future. There are a lot of benefits to be had by using bamboo which cannot be replicated by plastic. In saying that there are also a few drawbacks when compared to plastic but overall it is a tremendous material that we are investing heavily in because of its benefits.
What are the Benefits of Using Bamboo to make Promotional Items?

The first and most obvious benefits is that bamboo is much much kinder on the environment than plastic. Bamboo has an amazing array of characteristics which are kind and eco friendly such as:

- The fastest growing plant in the world. In fact it has been known to grow 3-4 feet in 1 day!

- Bamboo requires less water and less soil nutrients than trees

- Converting bamboo into a plastic substitute uses significantly less chemicals. (it is arguably similar amount of chemcials with cotton fabric though)

- Bamboo releases 35% more oxygen than trees

- Bamboo compared to timber can create 2000% more product when planted in the same area

- Bamboo is a natural product and will bio-degrade more safely inside landfill when the life cycle of a product has been reached

From an environmental factor bamboo is a tremendous almost perfect material. However how does this benefit you and when you buy promotional items that are made from bamboo?

In our industry the product that gives maximum value to the customer is always the product that sells the best. In saying that there are a few strong reasons why bamboo made products are becoming a product that is hard to beat.

- Bamboo is extremely strong as a material. Combine that with the fact that they are extremely light weight it makes your product very very durable.

- Bamboo ages very well. Unlike products made from metal (which is prone to staining and corrosion over time) or plastics which lose colour and gets a bit scratched over time bamboo ages very well and the product looks good even years after you have received it. When it does age it simply adds to the look of the product.

- Bamboo screams out loud that your company is environmentally aware and that your brand cares. That and the fact that bamboo is a modern material also speaks positive things about the brand that is printed on it.

- As bamboo is a natural product like all items in nature there is no two products that are alike. This makes each individual product a bit more special that you hand out as corporate gifts.

Now there are some drawbacks about bamboo. The main thing is the cost. At the moment they are not nearly as popular as plastics (but we rekon this will change) this means that the price for bamboo made items are typically around 10-25% more dearer. Over time as popularity increases the prices will come down. Colour wise if you like the bright solid fluro colours that plastics can create then you may be dissapointed as bamboo essentially can only come in light middle or dark wood grain colours.
