If there's one thing we love about art, it's that it can take many different forms using a variety of different mediums. One of the more traditional artistic pursuits is illustrating on paper using the humble pencil -- which, in the case of today's blog topic is anything but humble. One Japanese artist is using his sketching skills to create photorealistic art that will blow your mind.

Amazing Illustrations Drawn With a Branded Pencil

Kohei Ohmori may only be in his early twenties, but this artist has a steady hand and talent with pencils that have to be seen to be believed. When looking at Ohmori's work one would be forgiven for thinking he is a black & white photographer, that's how three dimensional and "real" his pencil illustrations are. In reality, Ohmori painstakingly draws each picture by hand using nothing but promotional pencilsin a process which can take up to 200 hours per drawing!

The results, I'm sure you'll agree, are worth the effort. Despite only using (super sharp) pencils to make his art, Ohmori's drawings leap off the page with shadowing and dimensions that look almost like you could reach out and touch them. Because of his incredible talent and dedication to perfection, fans on Twitter consider Ohomori a genius and given the level of intricacy involved in his art; we're inclined to agree.

While we're not all talents of Ohmori's calibre, there's still a lot to be said for picking up a nice sharp pencil and drawing a unique illustration of our own. Hopefully, you're all feeling just that touch more inspired after reading this blog!
