Promotional chocolates have always been one of the most popular types of confectionery for tradeshows, expos and corporate gifting. Since the beginning, chocolates have only ever come in three flavours. Dark, Milk and White Chocolate. What I am about to tell you though, will shock you. Chocolate now comes in a fourth flavour called Ruby! This is the first real type of chocolate flavour in the past 80 years. (White chocolate was the last.)

1. Ruby chocolate is a new type of chocolate.
2. It has a unique, sweet and fruity taste.
3. Look out for upcoming ruby promotional chocolates!

Ruby Chocolate: Game Changer

Ruby chocolate is not chocolate that is mixed with a little food colour. Ruby chocolate is a legitimately new type of chocolate with a taste and flavour that is unique to itself. So what exactly is Ruby Chocolate?

Ruby chocolate is made with the Ruby cocoa bean. This cocoa bean is known to be bursting with taste and flavour and looks a little red (like a Ruby... hence its name).

But who invented the Ruby chocolate? Ruby chocolate is the result of the work of a man named Barry Callebaut, who developed it in France and Belgium. A press release at an event in Shanghai early September was made to announce this new flavour.

So what does this red looking chocolate taste like? Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), it tastes sweet but with a little fruity taste to it. This is very strange, as this type of chocolate does not have any berry or fruit added to it.

Coming to a Promotional Chocolate Near You

We have not got word yet, when we can start offering this as a promotional chocolate for your conferences or events, however I can bet you that when next valentines day comes around, you will definitely be able to purchase these and try for yourself. So here are some ruby chocolate facts for the meantime:

  • The first commercial ruby chocolate product hit shelves in January 2018 -- it was a promotional Kit-Kat bar for the Japanese and South Korean markets!
  • The development of custom ruby chocolate started in 2004 and was formally announced in 2017 -- that's a full 13 years of development!
  • The cocoa beans used to create ruby chocolate are unfermented, which is what gives the chocolate its rosy colour.

Logo Branded Chocolate Benefits

Apart from being a popular confectionery item, promotional chocolates have many other benefits when it comes to corporate gifting. Here are some reasons why you should consider using promotional chocolates for your next event:

  • Affordable and versatile: Promotional chocolates are affordable, and with the option of custom branding, they can be versatile to suit any occasion.
  • High-perceived value: Everyone loves chocolate, making it an ideal gift for clients and employees alike. This increases the perceived value of your brand.
  • Brand exposure: When you give away promotional chocolates, your brand is exposed to not just the recipient but also those around them. It’s a great way of reaching more people.
  • Memorable: Giving someone something that they love always leaves a lasting impression on them about your business.

Takeaway

The introduction of ruby chocolate is a game changer for the chocolate industry. With its unique taste and flavour, it's exciting to see how this new type of chocolate will be used in marketing and promotional campaigns. As we wait for these chocolates to become available for corporate gifting, we can only imagine how companies will use this new flavour to create a buzz around their products and services. All in all, let's enjoy the sweet moments that this new type of chocolate brings!
