This has got to be one of my favourite marketing events of the year. The marketing campaign is for Hot Wheels (the kids toy car brand). I love everything about this marketing campaignn and I cannot wait for a local version to happen in Australia. It has everything that appeals to me in order to be successful and engaging as a marketing activity:

1) It is outdoors on a fine sunny day
2) It is visual, from a long distance in fact
3) Captivating! absolutely
4) Shareable on social media
5) Best of all it looks like a whole lot of fun.

What Took Place

This marketing event was quite simple really. Take small toy cars. Create what will be a Guiness World Record for a car toy track stuck to the side of a 5 storey building. Get a bunch of kids and simply roll those toy cars down the track. Absolutely terrific fun for all ages!

Where & When it Took Place

It took place in Barcelona in mid May this year. It was part of a wider city effort
