How do many of the world's leading brands communicate change, and a fresh new way of doing things? Well many of them start with designing their logo.

In order to appeal to appeal to a young, trendy and progressive crowd, some organisations may appoint a more left-leaning representative to lead their party *cough cough* – and some brands might decide to err towards the principles of 'hipster design' to attract the young whippersnappers into their midst. With the motto "holding a mirror up to the artsy community", the aptly titled Tumblr Blog 'Hipster Branding' offers up hipster-compatible redesigns of famous corporate logos, tongue planted firmly in cheek.

    1. Embrace hipster branding for rebranding.

  4. 3 Oddly Punctuated Brands

Over the years we have provided personalized custom branded products to many different corporate businesses. There are a few though that stand out. Why? because they have all sorts of weird and non-useful punctuation. Here are a few that I thought I share with you.

    Strangely Punctuated Products & Brands

Here are some popular products and brand names that have strange punctuation.

    1) Starting with everyone's favourite Fillet-O-Fish. Why does Fillet-O-Fish have a hyphen? Apparently there used to b a mascot associated with this burger which had the name Phil A. O'Fish, but that still does not explain the hyphen. So how did this happen? If anyone knows please let us know via social media.

    2) Toys "R"Us is another strange one with odd punctuation.

  8. The Mystery of Genderized Shirt Buttons

The Mystery of Genderized Shirt Buttons

Clothing has long been a medium of expressing identity and status, including gender. One such example is the direction of shirt buttons, a seemingly small detail that carries historical significance. You may not even be aware of this, but the differences in mens and womens business shirts goes beyond tailoring to fit our different body types. For centuries there has been a genderized divide when it comes to the placement of buttons– and no one can quite pinpoint exactly why women's shirt buttons are on the right and men's are on the left.

    • Button placement on men's and women's shirts is rooted in societal norms.
    • Clothing design is evolving towards inclusivity and diversity, with brands defying gender norms.
    • Fashion challenges gender roles and promotes equality.

Brands evolve over the years. Times change, and so does style. To remain on the top, companies change their look to match. Logos become smoother, cleaner, more modern, and more elegant. Google is no different. Since their founding in 1997, they’ve gone through 7 iterations of their famous, brightly coloured logo, with the seventh and most recent design unveiled only days ago on September 1st 2015. In following the trend of their past few designs, they’ve made their logo smoother, flatter, and simpler.

Over the years Google have streamlined and updated their design. Their first logo in 1997 was almost tragically 1990’s. It looked like something a kid created from Wordart during a computer studies class in Primary School. Their second logo a year later showed
